Orosi Valley Farm is a private residence with Bed and Breakfast service or Hostel service located in the beautiful Orosi Valley in the Cartago Province of Costa Rica.  Surrounded by mountains and in the shadows of Irazu and Turrialba Volcanoes, Orosi Valley Farm is a great place to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of the larger cities.  Orosi Valley Farm has over 100 varieties of tropical ornamentals and a small orchid collection.  The Meseta Central and the Orosi Valley in particular experience average year round temperatures between 15-25 degrees centigrade (60-80 fahrenheit).  The lush, tropical landscapes, and the surrounding coffee plantations offer a tranquil setting in an area relatively untouched by commercialism.  Come, relax and spend time in the Orosi Valley and learn the real meaning of Pura Vida (Pure Life).

The Orosi Valley offers a variety of attractions.  Hike some of the local trails or relax at the local hot springs.  There is white water rafting in Turrialba, about 45 minutes from the farm.  There are local ruins of 16th century and 20th century churches.  House of the Dreamer (built by Macedonio Quesada, primitive artist) is a short drive away.  In the town of Orosi, you will find the oldest church(ca. 1743) still having services.  The church also hosts a religious museum.  With great places to eat and good prices, restaurants in the Orosi Valley will provide you with a taste of the real Costa Rica, the land of "Pura Vida".

The Orosi Valley is located approximately 35 km southeast of San Jose the capital city of Costa Rica and approximately 15 km southeast of Cartago the original capital.  We are centrally located between the towns of Paraiso and Orosi on the main highway.  Within the Orosi Valley there is hiking, bicycling, historical sites and ruins, and coffee plantations or, spend the day lounging in local hot springs or touring local volcanoes.

Orosi Valley Farm can arrange for other tours of nearby attractions at an extra charge.  We are about 30 km from Parque Nacional Volcan Irazu, 10 km from Parque Nacional Tapanti, and 40 km from Turrialba and the Guayabo Nacional Monument archeological excavation.
